As the year begins and we once again commit to landing a better job, we assume that we are pawns in the marketplace and have little control over our career fates.  We therefore conclude that our best strategy is presenting ourselves as what is demanded in ads, getting someone seeing our brilliance once we take “a job” and dumb luck.
